The long way home IS a visual diary. It is an extraction of emotion and search. A search for authenticity. A search for self. The long way home walks us through an unapologetic journey of processing emotion, accepting our full self, and permitting ourselves to take up space. As such, this deck does not include a guidebook. The guide is YOU. May the cards inspire your intuition and provide a mirror for the parts of yourself you hold captive, the parts you are afraid for the world to see. Let it walk you into the dark, and hold your hand as you emerge into the light again. Whole.
The deck is 58 cards, hand made analog collage. There are two options- 350gsm with a matte UV finish, and 300gsm with a rose finish. Both options have a different feel and invite you into the imagery in a very different way. The rose makes you feel like you’re stepping into the visual diary. They read like old film photographs that you found in the back of your closet, they tell you a story of a time you almost forgot about. In this way, the story seeks to honor the journey and remind you of the lessons. The matte UV feels sharp and poignant. The images are warmer, the contrast feels more noticeable. This version of the deck speaks directly to you. The stories told in the clarity of the images fare like a shout instead of a whisper. An old friend has come to speak to you, the old friend is you.
It will be in a two part hard box (which is currently being redesigned), and the cards will have a soft yellow gilding/edging.
